WST is a dynamic, innovative, wholistic, interactive process designed to help leaders transform themselves as they engage a critical mass of the organization in transforming itself anew. The intent is to to take advantage of the vast opportunities of exponential change.
WST engages all facets of an organization in a paradigm shift to accomplish accelerated and sustainable system-wide results. It creates a metamorphosis in the current system to bring about a shift, a “WOW” or quantum leap towards excellence. The approach releases shared hope, shared meaning, and focused energy.
All of this sounds great... but how does this work, you ask?
To put it simply, it is through the intentional design and facilitation of a series of Leadership and Design Team retreats that plan out a very specific and intentional experience to gather and transform large groups of stakeholders in a controlled environment. The process is designed to unearth and release the old to envision anew. It enables all participants, regardless of level, to co-create a new beginning that represents the desired values and direction of the organization.
Many have written about the "magic" that is released through the power of this process. Many have seen and experienced it first hand. Call it alchemical. Or call it just very well designed. When you mix a specific set of variables together and add the special ingredients of focused intention and empowerment, you get a profound result.
This is why I do this work. When I saw this process work in my early 20's at a large European aerospace organization, something within me stirred. Intuitively, I knew there was power in this process. If you can transform the culture of a multi-national organization in 2 1/2 days, what else can you accomplish when you apply this process? What other world problems can you solve?
These are the questions that keep me moving and keep me inspired.
If you'd like to learn even more about WST, I invite you to our workshop on November 1st in Seattle, WA that is being hosted by the Pacific Northwest Organization Development Network. Check it out here! https://www.pnodn.org/event-3549817
Furthermore, if you'd like to read more about a successful WST effort, please "subscribe and get free resources" at the bottom of the page and you will receive a case study further illustrating the application of WST.
Here are a few photos of that initial transformation in 2008...
Onwards and upwards!
